Disney’s The Lion King is the story of a young prince, Simba, and his journey through the circle of life to become king of the Pride Lands. Simba was born in Africa and inherited the right to be king of the Pride Lands after the passing of his father Mufasa. However, Simba’s birth made his uncle Scar second in line to the throne. Scar plots the death of Simba and his father Mufasa to make himself king. When Scar succeeds in killing Mufasa, Simba believes it is his fault and leaves the Pride Lands forever. With the help and support of new friends Timon and Pumba, Simba returns to the Pride Lands to overthrow Scar and claim his right as king.


The Lion King was released in the US June 24th, 1994 and since then has won 2 Oscars, 22 other wins, and has been nominated 22 times.  The movie has a cast of voices such as Jonathon Taylor Thomas (Simba)




James Earl Jones (Mufasa)




Jeremy Irons (Scar)




and Niketa Calame (Nala).
